LONDON TO PARIS

Join the team and bike from London to Paris for a truly unforgettable experience - make friends for life, push yourself past your limits, but most importantly - make memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime while raising funds for an amazing cause!

Our cycling challengers are going on an epic journey, covering over 300 miles in just 4 days. Setting off from London, the route will take them through Kent to Dover ready to cross the channel.

The scenic course through France will take in picturesque towns and countryside, and with every mile pedalled we hope to raise as much as we can for brave young patients back at Alder Hey.

The ride isn’t for the faint hearted as each day will bring its own challenges, but with iconic landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe greeting them on the home stretch it is sure to be a grand finale.

Our Lycra-clad friends are dedicated to bringing magic to our amazing hospital and at the finish line, will celebrate their huge achievement at the Eiffel Tower.

You can support our inspiring challengers by sponsoring them today and every donation will help create bright futures for the babies and children we care for at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Meet Summer from New Brighton

Summer, who has Down's syndrome, became ill with a virus and rash before she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), a type of cancer that affects the white blood cells.

One day during her treatment she was visited by Georgina, an Arts for Health practitioner at Alder Hey and a cellist at the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As soon as Georgina started playing Summer’s mood improved, she sat up in bed, started clapping and engaged with the staff.

Mum Leanne says she sincerely believes that Summer would have “given up” had Georgina not called in and played music that day.

Georgina is clear about the impact of music on our young patients “The live sound of music on a ward can create a point of focus, it brings people together, we build trust, have fun and keep a sense of play.”

Mum Leanne continued: “When Summer was first diagnosed, we really didn’t think we’d see her start school or that our lives would ever be the same again. Without the amazing team on ward 3B we wouldn’t be where we are now”.
